Jesus said to me one day, "I hurt that you hurt so I wanted to hurt for you." I was writing when He said that to me. I don't remember what it was I was writing about, but it caused me to stop and cry.
I knew He was saying that's why He did what He did. That's why He got on the cross and took those stripes. That's why He gave His life. He loves us so much that when we hurt He hurts. You know how that feels when you love someone and they hurt, you hurt too because you love that person. And wouldn't you do anything for that person you love, even be in pain for them?
He loves us so much, our pain hurt Him that much that it moved Him to hurt for us so we don't have to hurt. That's who He is, that is the God we serve, the One that has so much love for us He can't even contain it! He had to do something about our pain because He is that in love with us!
Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
